Global Experience

Delivering successful international study opportunities requires coordinated, accurate and student-centred processes across the University. Because these programs involve academic requirements, international partnerships, funding schemes, risk management and student wellbeing, strong collaboration is essential. We work with colleges and central units to ensure overseas study and exchange programs are well governed, accessible and aligned with institutional priorities.

We are available to support: 

• Manage institutional partnerships: coordinate exchange agreements, monitor capacity, and maintain positive relationships with partner universities.
• Oversee program operations: streamline application, nomination, credit assessment and enrolment workflows
• Provide tools, resources and best-practice guidance: offer templates, process documentation and support materials for staff.

We work closely with colleges and program leaders to ensure group programs are well designed, compliant, safe and aligned with institutional priorities. We also support consistent practices that guide staff and students through each stage of the program lifecycle.

We can:

• Support program design and approval: advise on academic alignment, credit structures, eligibility and governance requirements.
• Manage partner and provider engagement: support collaboration with overseas institutions, third‑party providers and host organisations.
• Guide risk and safety processes: assist with risk assessments, travel approvals, insurance, crisis planning and duty‑of‑care obligations.
• Provide tools, templates and best‑practice resources: offer documentation to support planning, delivery and post‑program evaluation.

The New Colombo Plan (NCP) plays a vital role in strengthening Australia's engagement with the Indo-Pacific by supporting students to undertake study, internships and immersive experiences across the region. We work closely with academics and external partners to ensure NCP initiatives are strategically aligned, well governed and deliver high-quality outcomes for students and the institution.

We are available to support you with all aspects of NCP program development and delivery.

We can:

• Coordinate end-to-end NCP program delivery: assist with candidate identification, application development, endorsement, and pre‑departure requirements.
• Align NCP activities with institutional strategy: ensure programs contribute to University priorities in global engagement, student experience and Indo-Pacific partnerships.
• Support NCP scholarship processes: assist with candidate identification, application development, endorsement and pre-departure requirements.

The Inbound Exchange and Study Abroad Program welcomes students from our international partner universities and other institutions worldwide to study at Flinders University for one or two semesters.

We work closely with colleges and professional staff to support students throughout their Flinders journey, from nomination and application through to enrolment, orientation and program completion.

We can support you with:

• Coordinate inbound exchange and study abroad admissions: manage nominations, applications, offers and acceptance processes.
• Support topic assessment and enrolment activities: work with colleges to facilitate topic approvals and study plans.
• Deliver student communications and orientation activities: provide guidance, resources and support before and during students' studies at Flinders.
• Manage partnership commitments: ensure exchange balances, reporting requirements and partner relationships are maintained.
• Provide advice and resources for staff: support colleges and professional staff involved in inbound student processes.
