Dear Colleagues
We are excited to announce some updates regarding the Executive and Leadership roles within our College. On March 1, Professor Raymond Chan commenced his position as CNHS Dean of Research, while retaining his responsibility as Director of the Caring Futures Institute. Associate Professor Chris Barr will continue to lead the Dean of Education portfolio, with Associate Professor Sebastian Doeltgen taking on the lead of establishing the CNHS Learning and Teaching Academy and overseeing the College’s International portfolio. Within the Caring Futures Institute, we would like to congratulate Professor Rebecca Golley, Professor Gillian Harvey and Professor Lucy Lewis who have been appointed into new Deputy Director roles.
VPED Professor Alison Kitson will be away on business travel from 27 Mar to 24 April — Professor Michelle Miller (Dean, People & Resources) and Professor Lucy Chipchase (Deputy Dean Clinical & Community Practice) will be acting in the role during this time. Please continue to send emails to the VPED email address.
We are less than one year away from opening our new city campus and welcoming students to Flinders at Festival Plaza in Semester 1, 2024. If you have any questions on next steps for your courses and topics or whether your topics are involved, see our Dean, Education or your Teaching Program Director. High-level course information is available on the Flinders at Festival Plaza course website. If you have any questions, please email festivalplaza@flinders.edu.au.
Lastly, whilst there is no longer a legislative requirement to wear masks for general use, we would like to strongly recommend that mask wearing remains in place for the College in activities such as health, aged care and disability care settings. This also includes activities undertaken in laboratories, simulation suites, and clinics. We also ask that you avoid coming onto campus if you are feeling unwell and particularly if you have COVID.
