The University will close at 5.00 pm on Friday 23 December 2022.
Public holidays which will be observed during the end of year closure period (as specified under the Enterprise Agreement) are as follows:
The following days will count as annual recreation leave for all staff working until the University closure at 5.00 pm on 23 December 2022.
Academic staff - In accordance with clause A26.3.1 of the Enterprise Agreement, academic staff will have these 2 days automatically deducted from their annual recreation leave entitlement (in addition to the balance of the “block” leave booking for January 2023). There is provision for reversal of this leave in limited circumstances where there is an operational need and where alternative arrangements are agreed to take the period of leave. Reversal of this leave is not available for any staff member who has an annual leave balance in excess of 294 hours (pro rata for part time staff).
Professional staff – These 2 days have been blocked booked in advance by People and Culture. There may be circumstances where professional staff have access to flexitime and prefer to use this rather than annual leave. This can be accommodated with the approval of the supervisor through submitting a reversal of the leave booking via Workday provided the staff member does not have an annual leave balance in excess of 294 hours (pro rata for part time staff).
All staff are encouraged to utilise annual leave and/or long service leave as a minimum from Thursday 22 December 2022 to Friday 6 January 2023 inclusive or for a longer period for those that have sufficient leave balances.
Salaries will be available to staff on the normal pay days of:
The recreation leave loading will be included in the pay of 2 December 2022.
