Members of the Engineering and ICT Industry Advisory Board are leaders in industry, business, and government who are committed to assisting the College of Science and Engineering at Flinders to further its strategic goals in the areas of Engineering and ICT Education and Research.
The Advisory Board shall comprise:
Industry Advisory Board Members shall be appointed for 3-year terms, and are eligible for re-appointment.
Deans, Teaching Program Directors, research program leaders as appropriate and other relevant academic staff with responsibilities for academic leadership within the College will have a standing invitation to attend meetings of the Committee as observers.
(a) In respect of its activities in Engineering and ICT, the Industry Advisory Board shall provide advice to the College on:
(b) The Industry Advisory Board shall assist the College increase its engagement with the Engineering and ICT industry, professional bodies, the business community (and vice versa) and to build links with its stakeholders.
(c) The Industry Advisory Board shall assist the College to raise its profile and build its reputation in the area of Engineering and ICT.
The Industry Advisory Board shall hold a minimum of one meeting per year. The Board may agree to schedule additional meetings each year as required.
The College of Science and Engineering shall appoint a member of University staff to act as Secretary.
The Industry Advisory Board shall provide an annual verbal report on its activities to the Vice President and Executive Dean, College of Science and Engineering through the Deans.
Industry-sector sub-committees shall be formed as determined by the Board to provide discipline level advice to the Board and the Deans. Each sub-committee shall be chaired by a member of the Industry Advisory Board and will meet at least once per year. Currently there are four sub-committees:
